VICKSBURG, MS (Ben Caxton) — A man who showed up at Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg early New’s Eve morning claimed he was the victim of a shooting in the city. But after a day worth of investigations, police say something doesn’t add up. They aren’t saying what, but they did tell local news outlets that while the man claimed the shooting took place in the Marcus Bottoms area, they believe he was actually wounded across the river in nearby Louisiana.
