Most of the damage occurred in Madison and Rankin Counties near Jackson where strong winds toppled trees onto some vehicles and peeled roofs off of buildings. A steeple was torn off a church in the town of Flora, hail fell near a Nissan manufacturing plant and the front of a building was ripped off in Canton. Over 20,000 residents were without electricity and schools in Madison County and Canton were closed Wednesday because of power outages and fallen trees. [sc name=”twitterfollow”]
