MOOREHEAD, Miss.–While the campus lockdown at Mississippi Delta Community College was lifted over the weekend, enhanced security remained in place, following the Thursday shooting of a student at the Stonestreet Men’s Residence Hall.
Students and anyone else who wants to get on campus will have to show an ID, according to a campus alert sent out over the weekend.
The enhanced security was expected to continue through Friday, Dec. 13.
Counselors will be on campus Monday for any students who need to talk it out. They will be set up at the student union.
Karlito Griggs, of Greenville, who has an extensive arrest history, was arrested about 5:30 Thursday evening, shortly after the shooting, and remains in the Sunflower County Jail.
