SHARE NOW

Mississippi high school juniors and seniors have the chance to apply for free scholarships through the Delta State University Rising Scholars Program, designed to help students further their academic journey.

The program offers scholarships for both summer and fall semesters, and students incur no cost to apply. Delta State aims to support students financially and educationally, ensuring that financial barriers don’t hinder their academic success.

To be eligible, students must meet specific academic criteria, including a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, completion of 14 core high school units, and a composite ACT score of at least 21. Additionally, students must meet certain subject-specific ACT sub-scores to qualify for different courses. Applicants must also submit a dual enrollment application to be considered for the scholarship.

Applications are reviewed on an individual basis, and students will be notified of their acceptance status after the review process. Students who are selected will benefit from a scholarship that covers the cost of college courses taken during the summer or fall.

The Rising Scholars Program provides an opportunity for high-achieving students to get a head start on their higher education while easing the financial burden of tuition.

For more details or to submit an application, students can visit the Delta State University website. The deadline for summer scholarships is approaching, so students are encouraged to apply soon.

The Rising Scholars Program is part of Delta State’s ongoing efforts to support Mississippi students and help them succeed academically and professionally.
