DeSoto County DA Calls for Child Pornography Suspect to Be Sent to Guantanamo Bay

DeSOTO COUNTY, Miss.–The District Attorney of DeSoto County wants an illegal immigrant arrested on child pornography charges to be sent to Guantanamo Bay, along with other violent offenders sent there by the federal authorities, upon orders from Pres. Donald Trump.
D.A. Matthew Barton made that request late last week for Aldofo Rual Vazquez-Santana, arrested in September of 2024.
“My office is committed to ensuring that those who prey on our children are held accountable, and I cannot think of a better place than Guantanamo for this predator,” said Barton, in a prepared statement.
Barton has committed to having undocumented people in the DeSoto County Jail deported, but said he believes the serious nature of Vazquez-Santana’s offenses mean he should be sent to Gitmo, with other serious offender, though he has not yet been found guilty of the charges.
