GREENVILLE, Miss.–A run-off election will be held April 28, to elect a new city council person for Ward 6 in Greenville. The runoff will be between Sarah Ozbun and Tyrone Cook, said a news release following the vote totals. Ozbun led the race with 145 votes. Cook got 119. A total of 495 people voted, with no candidate getting more than 50 percent of the vote.

The Sunflower County Chapter of the Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) Alumni Association is inviting all alumni to a special Meet and Greet event with the 19th Head Coach of MVSU Football, Terrell Buckley. The event is scheduled for April 15, 2025, at 6:30 PM and will take place at the Gentry High School Gym in Indianola, Mississippi.

The evening will feature a Q&A session, offering alumni a chance to connect directly with Coach Buckley and discuss the future of the MVSU Football program. As a prominent figure in college football, Coach Buckley brings a wealth of experience and energy to MVSU, and this event will provide a unique opportunity to learn more about his vision for the team.
