GRENADA, Miss.–If you use Graysport Crossing bridge to get across Grenada Lake, you won’t be able to do that for the foreseeable future. The bridge has been shut down by the Miss. Dept. of Transportation because of a structural problem.
That announcement was made on the Grenada County Sheriff’s Dept. Facebook page Wednesday.
“We are understanding, after making a few phone calls, that the bridge on Graysport Crossing has been deemed unsafe to travel on by the engineer(s),” read the post.
“Don’t think for a second that we are withholding information, as we were just as shocked as everyone else when we were made aware it was being shut down,” said the Sheriff’s Dept.
MDOT confirmed that the bridge is currently considered unsafe and it is unclear how long it will be shut down.
Graysport Crossing crosses the lake on its eastern side.
