Disaster Recovery Centers Open in Mississippi Delta to Aid March Storm Victims

GREENWOOD, Miss.–Three disaster recovery centers are opening in the Delta, beginning at noon Monday, to help people who were affected by the storms and tornadoes in March.

In Issaquena County: Mayersville Multipurpose Building, 132 Court Street, Mayersville, MS, Monday – Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday – Closed.

In Grenada County: Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4661 Commerce Street, Grenada, MS, Monday – Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday – Closed.

In Leflore County: Leflore County EMA Office, 701 US 82, Greenwood, MS, Monday -Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday – Closed.

The Disaster Recovery Centers are open in the counties included in the Presidential disaster declaration. If you or your business were affected in the designated areas, you can use the centers to apply for assistance like grants to cover temporary housing and home repairs, and loans to cover uninsured property.

You should first file claims with your insurance providers and then apply for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired, or by using the FEMA App.
