CLARKSDALE, Miss.–Strong to severe thunderstorms expected to be here Monday morning will likely be gone by midday, said forecaster Logan Poole, with the National Weather Service.
“We’re expecting wind gusts of 60, maybe a little higher 65 mph with severe thunderstorms,” said Poole.
He said the storms will likely be organized in an arching band, referring to what they look like on radar, as they push through. Those winds could cause tree damage and power outages.
“Hopefully progressing eastward and mostly out of the way as we head into the afternoon. There could be a few lingering thunderstorms but we suspect most of those will probably be isolated and not particularly strong.”
You will still have the chance for thunderstorms each afternoon this week at least through Thursday.
