BELZONI, Miss.–A man who tried to kill another man two years ago will spend four decades in a Mississippi prison.
Humphreys County District Atty. Akillie Malone-Oliver said that a verdict had been reached in the attempted murder trial of Thomas Johnson in late June. The verdict was guilty.
Malone-Oliver said the case was built on witness testimony that Johnson tried to kill Randy Toy in November 2023.
Johnson was sentenced to 40 years in custody of the Miss. Dept. of Corrections.
