CLEVELAND, Miss.–A giant pool party was shut down Saturday afternoon just outside the Cleveland city limits, with one arrest being made and more than an estimated 500 people being run out of the subdivision by the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a report from the Bolivar Bullitt, the party was put on in a neighborhood on Collins Dr., behind the Cleveland airport. It was scheduled to start at 2 p.m. and by 5 p.m. complaints were coming in about the noise and crowd size.

Sheriff Kelvin Williams responded personally when he heard that the hosts were taking up money and giving out wristbands.

He also said posts were popping up on social media about the noise and number of cars that had inundated the neighborhood.

He was surprised by the number of people at the party. He estimated the crowd to be at more than 500. He called for help from deputies and the Cleveland Police Dept., and they started getting people out of the neighborhood.

Williams reported the arrest of Cleveland Johnson, 22, of Greenville, one of the attendees, who was charged with disorderly conduct and assault on a law enforcement officer.
