GREENWOOD, Miss.–Thougfh Greenwood’s new mayor had a tough time convincing the city council to approve his nominees during his first month in office, the city has a new fire chief.
The council confirmed Martrellis McDowell as chief Tuesday, upon the recommendation of Mayor Kendrick Cox.
McDowell is a veteran of the department, having been a Greenwood firefighter for three decades.
Though Marcus Banks was fired by Cox, he was at Tuesday’s meeting to endorse his former employee
