MOORHEAD, Miss.—Mississippi Delta Community College has announced the appointment of Ernest T. Jones as Interim Head Football Coach for the Trojans.
Jones brings a wealth of experience in collegiate football, combining years of on-field coaching with a track record in player development and athletic administration.
His career includes serving as head coach at Alcorn State University and, most recently, as secondary and special teams coach at Alabama A&M University. Jones has also coached at several major football programs, including Notre Dame, the University of Connecticut, Morgan State University, the University of Cincinnati, and Central Michigan University.
“We’re excited to welcome Coach Jones to lead our program,” the college said in a statement. “His leadership and extensive background will help guide our student-athletes both on and off the field.”
The Trojans will open their season later this month, with Jones aiming to set a strong tone for the year ahead.
