Pedestrian Killed in Early-Morning Crash on U.S. 61 Near Duncan

DUNCAN, Miss. — A Clarksdale man was killed early Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 61 in Bolivar County, authorities said.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 5 a.m. on Aug. 31 near Duncan. Troopers said a 2018 Dodge Charger driven by 22-year-old De’Anthony Brown of Alligator, Mississippi, was traveling northbound when it struck 34-year-old Edward M. Triplett of Clarksdale.

Triplett was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Brown was not injured in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
