GREENVILLE, Miss. — Mayor Errick D. Simmons will join community leaders September 16 for the Washington County School District’s “Meet Our Team” event at the Washington County Convention Center.

The 6 p.m. event will highlight truancy officers, attendance clerks, special needs directors, counselors, and nurses who support students across the district.
Guest speakers include Sheriff Milton Gaston, Police Chief Marcus Turner, Carl McGee, president of the Washington County Board of Supervisors, Judge Vernita King Johnson, and district superintendents.

“Greenville’s greatest strength is our children, and the dedicated professionals who guide them every day,” Simmons said in a statement.

“I’m honored to join this event to celebrate our school teams and to reaffirm our shared commitment to education, safety, and the bright future of every student in Washington County.”
