MOUND BAYOU, Miss. — The Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Mound Bayou Police Department late Monday night after more than 40 shell casings were found at the scene of a shooting into a home.
Deputies responded around 11:53 p.m. Sept. 15 to 601 Frances Street, where a residence had been struck by gunfire. A vehicle at the Fisher Homes Apartments complex was also damaged in the incident, authorities said.
Tafaris Townsend, 22, of Cleveland, was arrested and charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling. He is being held at the Bolivar County Regional Correctional Facility on a $50,000 bond.
Investigators are also searching for Tailan Lewis, 21, of Beulah, in connection with the case. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office at 662-843-5378 or Cleveland-Bolivar County Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
