CLEVELAND, Miss. — A Cleveland man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting that left another man injured Friday, police said.
The Cleveland Police Department said 36-year-old Lester Russell was charged after 24-year-old Kolby Scott was shot once in the back during an argument at a residence on Pearl Street.
Scott was airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was listed in stable condition, according to police.
Russell turned himself in to police following the shooting. He has been charged with one count of aggravated assault, two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling and one count of tampering with evidence.
On Monday, Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Warren Bell set Russell’s bond at $1 million. He remains in custody at the Bolivar County Jail.
