GREENVILLE, Miss. — A 61-year-old pedestrian was killed in a crash on the evening of Oct. 4 after being struck by a vehicle on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard North, according to the Greenville Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene in the 1600 block around 8:57 p.m. and found the victim unresponsive. Authorities said a dark-colored SUV left the roadway during the incident, striking both a utility pole and the wall of a nearby business.
The driver of the SUV was transported to Delta Health Systems for treatment. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Greenville Police Department.
Police urge anyone with information to come forward, reminding the public: “If you see something, say something.”
