Four Charged in Leland Mass Shooting That Killed Six

LELAND, Miss. — Authorities have identified and charged four suspects in connection with a mass shooting that left six people dead in Leland over the weekend.

According to law enforcement officials, those charged include Morgan Lattimore, 25; Teviyon L. Powell, 29; and William Bryant, 29, each facing capital murder charges. Latoya A. Powell, 44, has been charged with attempted murder.
The shooting occurred shortly after midnight on Oct. 11 at the intersection of Fourth Street and North Main Street, where multiple people were fatally shot.

The victims have been identified as Oreshama Johnson, 41; Calvin Plant, 19; Shelbyona Powell, 25; Kaslyn Johnson, 18; Amos Brantley Jr., 18; and JaMichael Jones, 34.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests could follow as they continue to gather evidence and review witness accounts.
