GREENVILLE, Miss. — A Greenville man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured one person earlier this month, according to the Greenville Police Department.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Solomon Street on Oct. 9 after receiving reports of a person shot. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his right leg.

Witnesses told police that a dark-colored vehicle drove down Solomon Street and opened fire, striking the victim and hitting an occupied residence nearby. The victim was treated and later released from Delta Health.

Following an investigation, police identified Dkari Ware as a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest. Ware was taken into custody without incident on Oct. 16 and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

He is being held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility.
