GREENVILLE, Miss. — A Greenville man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing over the weekend.
According to the Greenville Police Department, officers responded to a disturbance Saturday, Nov. 2, in the 400 block of Cately Street. When officers arrived, witnesses reported that a man had been stabbed and the suspect had fled the scene.
After a short foot pursuit, police apprehended 41-year-old Jermaine Duncan of Greenville. The victim, identified as 43-year-old Johnathan Hendrix, also of Greenville, sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper body.
Hendrix was initially taken to Delta Health in Greenville but was later airlifted to another medical facility in critical condition.
Duncan has been charged with attempted murder and is being held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility on a $150,000 bond, police said.
