GREENVILLE, Miss. — The charge against a Greenville man has been upgraded to murder after the victim of a recent stabbing died from his injuries, authorities said.
Greenville Police responded to a disturbance on Nov. 2 in the 400 block of Cately Street. When officers arrived, they found 43-year-old Johnathan Hendrix suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper body, according to the department.

Hendrix was taken to Delta Health–The Medical Center and later airlifted to another facility due to the severity of his injuries. Police confirmed that Hendrix has since died.

Officers arrested 41-year-old Jermaine Duncan of Greenville in connection with the stabbing. Duncan was initially charged with attempted murder, but the charge has now been upgraded to murder following Hendrix’s death, police said.
Duncan is being held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility and is awaiting his initial court appearance.
