CLARKSDALE, Miss. — A weeks-long investigation into alleged drug activity at a Clarksdale residence led to multiple arrests Tuesday after the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 1405 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd.

Deputies said the search followed reports that Courtney “Chief” Marshall and Tiolanie “Tee-Tee” Marshall were selling narcotics and alcohol-infused slushes from their home. Investigators also learned that children regularly visited the residence to buy candy and drinks. The home sits directly across from a daycare, a detail authorities said increases the severity of the activity.

Inside the residence, investigators found a digital scale, marijuana, assorted candy and a slush machine positioned on a table used for sales. A minor child was located in the living room during the operation. According to the sheriff’s office, Tiolanie Marshall was found in a bedroom with about one pound of marijuana and was taken into custody. The child was safely released to a family member.

Courtney Marshall, who was not present during the search, was later located and arrested in connection with the investigation. Maurice Smith was also arrested and charged with aiding and abetting, authorities said.

The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office said it remains committed to protecting the safety of the community, especially children, and will continue taking action against illegal drug activity.
