GREENVILLE, Miss. — A Greenville man is behind bars following a shooting incident reported earlier this week, according to the Greenville Police Department.
Officers responded Jan. 6 to reports of shots fired in the 400 block of Main Street. During the investigation, police made contact with occupants of a vehicle who reported that another car was following them and firing gunshots. One victim was struck in the leg, authorities said.
Following further investigation, officers arrested 47-year-old Vincent Williams of Greenville in connection with the shooting.
While details surrounding the incident remain under investigation, Williams has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts of possession of a stolen firearm, and tampering with evidence.
Williams is being held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility on a $125,000 bond.
All suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
