COAHOMA COUNTY, Miss. — The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office has reached a historic milestone after successfully passing the American Correctional Association accreditation process, marking the first time the agency has achieved the distinction.

The sheriff’s office, under the leadership of Sheriff Mario Magsby Sr., earned a perfect score of 100 percent during the accreditation review, demonstrating full compliance with all applicable standards evaluated.
The American Correctional Association accreditation process is widely regarded as the national benchmark for correctional facilities, emphasizing professionalism, accountability, safety and best practices in operations and inmate care.

“This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication and professionalism of our entire team,” Magsby said. “Earning a 100 percent score on the first phase of ACA accreditation shows our commitment to meeting the highest national standards and providing safe, secure and responsible correctional services for Coahoma County.”

Officials said the accomplishment reflects the sheriff’s office’s ongoing commitment to transparency, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
