Coahoma County deputies investigate armed robbery in Friars Point

FRIARS POINT, Miss. — The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery reported Wednesday at a business in Friars Point.

Deputies responded Jan. 14 to a call at 648 Second St., where the victim reported that two armed male suspects entered the store and demanded access to the safe and cash register, according to authorities. No injuries were reported.
The suspects fled the scene on foot with an iPhone 14 or 15, several packs of Newport cigarettes and $568 in cash, investigators said.

The victim described both suspects as wearing all-black clothing and light blue gloves. One suspect was wearing a gray-and-black mask, while the other wore an all-black mask. The victim told deputies one suspect was light-skinned and the other dark-skinned.

The suspects were last seen running toward Kendall Street.

The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents in the area to review any surveillance or doorbell camera footage from around the time of the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the sheriff’s office. Tips may be submitted anonymously.
