MOUND BAYOU, Miss. — The City of Mound Bayou is accepting applications for two positions in its public works department, the city announced.
The first position, Maintenance Supervisor, will oversee all maintenance functions for the city and potential remote locations. Responsibilities include supervising personnel in the repair, modification, and installation of equipment, maintaining preventative maintenance programs, and ensuring departmental safety and regulatory compliance.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, five to seven years of maintenance experience, and at least three years in a supervisory role. Welding, fabrication, water systems experience, and a valid driver’s license are required.
The second position, Public Works-Street Laborer/Maintenance Worker, will assist with the daily maintenance of city infrastructure, including street and sidewalk repairs, water leaks, storm drainage, vegetation control, and litter removal. The role also includes landscape, janitorial, and general maintenance of city properties. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break.
