GREENVILLE, Miss. — Mayor Errick D. Simmons announced Monday that the Greenville City Council has reappointed Oliver Johnson to the Greenville Public School Board of Trustees.
The decision follows the council’s receipt of a report from the School Board Ad Hoc Advisory Committee, which reflected a majority vote in favor of Johnson’s reappointment. The council voted to accept the committee’s recommendation and confirm Johnson for another term.
In a statement, Simmons thanked both candidates who sought the position and encouraged continued collaboration.
“The city sincerely thanks both candidates for their willingness to serve and encourages them to remain engaged, continue to work together in the best interest of our public school children, and to advance education in our community,” Simmons said.
