Greenville Police Arrest Suspect in Shooting that Injured 23-Year-Old Man

GREENVILLE, Miss. — The Greenville Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a shooting that left a 23-year-old man injured.

Officers responded March 23 to Delta Health Systems after receiving a report of a gunshot victim in the emergency room. Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim, who said he had been walking near 9th Street, close to King’s Stop, when an individual began shooting at him.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Following an investigation, detectives arrested LaEarl Jones, 35, of Texas. He has been charged with aggravated assault and gang activity.

Jones is being held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility on a $500,000 bond.
