CLARKSDALE, Miss. — Authorities in Clarksdale have arrested a man and taken two juveniles into custody following a reported shooting incident earlier this week, police said.

According to the Clarksdale Police Department, officers responded around 4 p.m. April 28 to multiple reports of shots fired on Jefferson Avenue. While en route, an officer observed a suspect running through an alley and quickly apprehended the individual, who was identified as a juvenile. A second juvenile was detained shortly afterward.

During a canvass of the area, officers recovered a firearm near where the first juvenile had been seen running. Police said both juveniles were taken into custody on felony warrants issued in another county.

Residents in the area later provided officers with a description and possible location of another suspect. Officers located and made contact with Allen Collins, 41, who was arrested on initial charges of disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon illegally. Authorities said two firearms were recovered at the scene.

Following further investigation, Collins was formally charged April 29 with shooting into a dwelling. He was issued a $125,000 bond.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are expected for the juveniles involved.
