CLEVELAND, Miss. — Delta State University will host a Family Financial Fun Night on May 13, offering local families an evening of food, activities and financial education resources geared toward elementary-aged students and their parents.

The free event is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Wyatt Gym on the university’s campus. Dinner will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Organizers say the program is open to kindergarten through fifth-grade students and their parents and is designed to introduce basic financial concepts in an engaging, family-friendly environment.

“This event is designed to educate families with students in K-5th grade about financial literacy in an enjoyable way,” said Glendscene Williams, chair of accountancy, computer information systems and finance at the university.
Attendance is free, but registration is required and space is limited. Families must register by May 8.

The event is presented in partnership with the Mississippi Council on Economic Education and is funded by the Mississippi Department of Human Services.

For more information, organizers say families can contact event coordinators through the Mississippi Council on Economic Education.
