Greenville to Announce Lineup for 49th Mississippi Delta Blues and Heritage Festival

GREENVILLE, Miss. — Greenville Mayor Errick D. Simmons, alongside Mississippi Action for Community Education Inc. and the Mississippi Delta Blues & Heritage Festival Advisory Committee, will hold a press conference Friday to announce the artist lineup for the 49th Annual Mississippi Delta Blues and Heritage Festival.

The announcement is scheduled for noon Friday on the steps of Greenville City Hall, according to a media alert from the Washington County Economic Alliance.

Organizers said this year’s festival lineup will feature a broad range of blues and soul music styles, including Delta blues, Hill Country blues, Louisiana blues, soul blues and Southern soul. The festival also will include a tribute to the blues by an international artist.

The Mississippi Delta Blues and Heritage Festival is set for Sept. 19 at the Washington County Convention Center Fairgrounds in Greenville.

Festival organizers said the event is open to the public and invited members of the media to attend Friday’s announcement.
