CLARKSDALE, Miss. — Community members are invited to participate in the launch and maintenance of the Clarksdale Community Garden during a volunteer event scheduled for June 4 in Clarksdale.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Mississippi State Extension Office, located at 503 East Second Street.
Organizers said the community garden aims to provide fresh produce, promote healthy living and create opportunities for education and community connection in Clarksdale.
Volunteer activities will include planting and harvesting crops, watering and maintaining the garden, and assisting with youth and educational activities.
According to organizers, no gardening experience is required, and individuals of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.
The event also seeks to address local food access while helping residents develop gardening skills and strengthen community relationships.
