GREENVILLE, Miss. — A vacant residential structure was destroyed in a fire Monday night in Greenville, according to the Greenville Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the 500 block of Harvey Street on June 1 and arrived to find the house fully engulfed in flames, the department said in a social media post.
Crews quickly deployed hose lines and launched an aggressive attack on the fire, bringing the blaze under control. Firefighters then conducted overhaul operations to extinguish remaining hot spots and ensure the fire was completely out.
The structure was declared a total loss. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
Photos shared by the Greenville Fire Department showed firefighters battling heavy flames as the fire consumed the vacant home.
