GREENVILLE, Miss. — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred outside the Greenville Mall, city officials said.
In a statement released Monday, Mayor Errick D. Simmons said the Greenville Police Department is leading the investigation with assistance from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.
Officials said there have been no reports of injuries related to the incident.
The city is urging residents to avoid speculation while investigators work to determine what happened.
“The safety and well-being of our residents and visitors remain our highest priority,” Simmons said in the statement.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Greenville Police Department. City officials said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
No other details about the shooting, including possible suspects or what led to the incident, were immediately available.
