MOUND BAYOU, Miss. — The City of Mound Bayou is preparing for the 18th annual Mound Bayou SeptemberFest, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, at The Greens in front of the historic I.T. Montgomery House.
Mayor Leighton Aldridge is encouraging residents, visitors and former residents to return to Mound Bayou for the annual community celebration, which will highlight the city’s history, culture and community.
The day’s activities will begin with a 5K walk/run at 8 a.m., followed by the grand parade at 10 a.m. SeptemberFest festivities will officially begin at 11 a.m.
The event will include a float competition, BBQ contest, live entertainment featuring Variety, DJ Vibez, vendors and class and family reunion booths. Organizers also will honor some of the oldest citizens of Mound Bayou.
Festival T-shirts are available for purchase at Mound Bayou City Hall. Information about the festival and T-shirt sales is available by calling 662-924-5919.
Organizers are encouraging attendees to bring lawn chairs and family members and to make plans to participate in the celebration.
Aldridge urged those attending to be respectful, responsible and safe throughout the event.
SeptemberFest will be held at The Greens, located between West Main Street and East Main Street in Mound Bayou.
