GREENVILLE, Miss. — The Greenville Police Department is investigating a shooting reported late Saturday night near the intersection of Inez and Eureka streets.
Officers responding to reports of shots fired found multiple shell casings and blood at the scene. Investigators recovered approximately 10 to 15 pistol casings and nine rifle rounds.
During the investigation, officers learned that a man had arrived at Delta Health Hospital after the shooting. The victim told police he was in the area when individuals traveling in a pickup truck began firing at him.
The victim told investigators he returned fire in self-defense.
The investigation remains ongoing. No arrests have been announced.
