BRICKEYS, AR (Ben Caxton) — A prisoner at an East Arkansas prison was stabbed to death over the weekend. According to the Arkansas Department of Corrections 58-year-old Carl Luke Lowe was buffing the floors Sunday night at the East Arkansas Regional Unit in Lee County when he was stabbed half-a-dozen times by another inmate with a shank. Guards had to resort to pepper spray to subdue Lowe’s attacker when he refused to drop the weapon. Lowe was serving a life sentence for aggravated robbery, two counts of kidnapping and escape was later pronounced dead at a Forrest City, Arkansas hospital.
