BELZONI, Miss.–If you remember the story of Jarvis Hood, the man convicted and sentenced to federal prison for running guns from the Delta to Chicago, where some were used in violent crimes, you should be aware his cohorts have gotten federal prison sentences.
Hood made “straw purchases”, buying guns for someone other than himself and lying on the federal paperwork.
Also convicted were Jalene Young of Inverness, sentenced to 31 months on a charge of making false statements; Herbert Scott, Jr., of Belzoni, sentenced to 14 months for false statements and Markaveon Brown, of Isola, sentenced to three years for false statements.
