YALOBUSHA COUNTY, Miss.–A man tried to bait deputies into shooting him during a standoff Thursday in Yalobusha County, said the sheriff’s department there.
The incident began before noon on County Rd. 224 at a house where deputies had been called.
Zackary Beard was armed when they arrived on the disturbance call, and deputies said Beard tried to make them shoot. Instead, they exercised restraint and called for backup.
Cops from other agencies and SWAT arrived and were able to get Beard to give it up.
He was arrested. The charges were not announced.
