MOUND BAYOU, Miss. — Families in Mound Bayou and surrounding communities will have an opportunity to receive free school supplies later this month during a back-to-school backpack giveaway hosted by Arnetha Chapter No. 54 in partnership with the Mound Bayou R.I.S.E. Foundation.
The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at the Taborian Hospital parking lot in Mound Bayou. Organizers said backpacks filled with school supplies will be distributed while supplies last.
Children must be present to receive a backpack.
The giveaway is intended to help students prepare for the upcoming school year by providing essential school supplies at no cost to families.
Organizers are encouraging community members to attend, support the event and share information with families who may benefit.
