NORTH CARROLLTON, Miss.–A woman died Sunday morning in North Carrollton when a tree fell on her house.
There was no severe weather in any Delta counties when it happened and the mayor speculated that the tree’s root system may have been weakened by all of the recent rainfall.
Mary Lisa Hearn was in the bed when the tree fell on her bedroom. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hearn was well-known, especially to kids in the community. She was a long-time cafeteria worker at Marshall Elementary School.
