MOUND BAYOU, Miss. — Bethel A.M.E. Church will host its annual Vacation Bible School from June 8-12, offering local children and families a week of faith-based learning, fellowship and activities centered on the theme, “Shine Brightly With Jesus.”

The program will be held each evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church, located at 305 South Edwards in Mound Bayou.

Inspired by Matthew 5:16 and John 8:12, this year’s Vacation Bible School will encourage participants to live out their faith and serve as examples of Christ’s light in their communities. Organizers say the event will feature Bible lessons, games, crafts, music and opportunities for fellowship.

The theme focuses on Jesus’ teaching in John 8:12, which states, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

Church leaders say the program is designed to provide children with a fun and engaging environment where they can learn biblical principles while building friendships and strengthening their faith.

The event is open to children and families throughout the community.

Bethel A.M.E. Church is led by the Rev. Horace McKay. The Vacation Bible School is directed by Mrs. Oneita H. Crockett.
