TUNICA, Miss.–A bullet was found on the campus of Rosa Fort High School, causing a lockdown Wednesday, said the Tunica County Sheriff’s Dept.
A news release from the department said the .22 caliber round was found Wednesday outside the school. Deputies did not say who found it.
The Sheriff’s Office was called and the school went on lockdown.
After further investigation nothing further was found and the lockdown was cleared. But, investigators still want to know where the bullet came from and why it was there.
“Any person found with a firearm on a school campus shall be guilty of a felony and fined up to $5,000.00 or sentenced up to 3 years in MDOC custody for an initial conviction. Additionally, a student can be expelled,” deputies reminded people in the news release.
Anyone who knows anything about the incident is asked to call the Tunica County Sheriff’s Dept.
