MOUND BAYOU, Miss. — The Chi Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will host a Mental Health Awareness Event on Saturday, May 24, from 10 a.m. to noon at Mound Bayou City Hall.
The event is part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness and support mental well-being within the community. Organizers invite the public to join in a morning of informative discussions, access to mental health resources, and refreshments.
Attendees can expect to receive pamphlets on mental health, engage in friendly conversations, and connect with supportive resources. Light snacks will be provided while supplies last.
“This is about breaking the stigma,” organizers said in a statement. “We want everyone—regardless of age—to feel welcome and supported.”
The event is free and open to the public.
