SHAW, Miss.–Two men who work for a Delta security company are getting credit for rescuing several people from a van that went off the highway and into a large ditch Friday during heavy rain.

The van ran off the side of the road on Hwy. 448 between Shaw and Indianola, according to a Facebook post by Security Services, Inc.
Two employees, Robert Dudley and James Fisk, saw the van, which was partially submerged in water, and went in, pulling out four people who were injured. Three of the people had broken bones, with some of the bones protruding, and were bleeding.
“Demonstrating remarkable composure and quick thinking, Robert and James carefully removed the injured individuals from the vehicle and administered emergency first aid. Using improvised tourniquets and applying pressure to control bleeding, they stabilized the victims until emergency responders arrived,” said the post.

Neither of the men sought recognition for their actions.

It was unclear what caused the wreck.
