MOUND BAYOU, Miss. — A local sorority chapter is hosting a panel discussion this month to address economic development challenges and opportunities in the Mississippi Delta.
The Bolivar County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will present “Social Action Saturday” on April 26 at Scooter’s Place in Mound Bayou.
The event will feature a panel of elected officials discussing infrastructure, entrepreneurship, and community engagement in small towns.
Panelists include Mound Bayou Mayor Leighton Aldridge, Drew Mayor Melanie Townsend-Blackmon, and Bolivar County Tax Assessor/Collector Will Hooker.
The discussion is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon and is open to the public.
