Cleveland, MS — Jakori Johnson, a student from Delta State University (DSU), has been selected for the highly competitive Alpha South Study Abroad Program in South Africa for the summer of 2025.
The program, which lasts five weeks, will provide Johnson with the opportunity to explore South Africa’s history, politics, economy, and culture. Participants in the program earn academic credit while engaging in hands-on learning and experiencing a global perspective on various fields of study.
“This is an incredible opportunity for Jakori,” said a spokesperson from the university. “His selection speaks volumes about his dedication and the hard work he’s put into his academic journey at Delta State.”
The Alpha South Study Abroad Program is designed to immerse students in the South African experience, offering them a chance to learn firsthand about the nation’s unique social and cultural dynamics. As one of the few selected participants, Johnson will be joining an elite group of students from across the country.
