HERNANDO, Miss.–The man who escaped the DeSoto County courthouse in June and stayed on the run for more than two months will get his day in court, but not on an escape charge.
Joshua Zimmerman is charged with attempted murder, along with other charges. Prosecutors say he tried to kill his roommate.
That trial date has been set for April 7.
The contempt of court charge associated with the escape has been dropped.
Zimmerman is also facing a murder charge in Texas.
