Mississippi Commissioner Sean Tindell announced today that Eric “Jason” McElhenney has been appointed Director of the Criminal Information Center, a division of the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
In a statement, Tindell expressed enthusiasm about McElhenney’s appointment, citing his extensive background in law enforcement, military service, and intelligence operations. Tindell said McElhenney’s leadership would be instrumental in advancing the center’s mission to improve public safety through enhanced information sharing.
McElhenney’s responsibilities will include overseeing Mississippi’s primary conduit for data exchanges with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Criminal Information Center, as well as facilitating statewide and national law enforcement information exchanges. The Criminal Information Center plays a crucial role in ensuring effective collaboration between state and federal partners.
